Beautifully Bronze

Today's review consists of my favorite go to MAC bronzers. While these two products are very similar, there are differences. Whether you're a first time MAC shopper or looking to try something new, I hope you find this helpful!!

MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden Refined:
$23 at any MAC location (MAC store, online, or department store counter)

A few years ago, I made my first MAC purchase. This bronzer was suggested to me by one of ladies working at the MAC counter. This product goes on pretty sheer but is very build-able. The swatch didn't really pick it up, but there are flecks of gold. These flecks are almost, dare I say, chunky. Aside from the gold glitter, the product itself is matte. Now I did use this almost daily for the first year or so but I just couldn't get past the gold glitter after a while. This is bronzer is very good for an all over summer glow. The gold glitter provides a fun addition for those causal, beach wave, summer day. Like I said, it is very build-able. I am an NC20 (for reference) and this product worked well for my skin tone. I believe it would work well with all different kinds of shades of skin depending on use (either to add color or just for the glow it provides). It goes on very smoothly and blends well. While I know $23 is a lot to pay for a bronzer, I've had this product for about 4 years and there is still product. I have hit pan, but it will definitely last me a while longer. For a high quality product that lasts for years, $23 is really not a bad price to pay. I would definitely recommend this for those of you looking for a fun seasonal (or for special occasions) bronzer in addition to your every day staple.

I recently bought this after my search for a matte bronzer. I had tried all of the drugstore bronzers to no avail. I remembered how much I loved my first MAC bronzer and figured that I should give their Matte Bronze a try. This product is indeed matte upon application. In that pan, it looks pretty dark. However, it provides a sheer vail of bronze glow, or with a heavier hand, can be dark on the skin. I find that I have to be aware not to put too much on to avoid that dark streak on my face, as again, I am an NC20. This product is great for that sheer glow or for contouring depending on how you use it. It is very versatile and can be used for a number of uses. Because this bronzer is matte, you can use it every day, for any look you choose whether it be a fun night out, or in a professional setting. It blends very well, which means no harsh streaks. YAY! I've only had this bronzer for about 6 months and have barely made a dent, even though I generally use this on a daily basis. I'm sure that I will get as much use out of this bronzer as I have my Golden Refined, which again, for the price is fantastic.
